Starting with a polished imitation ivory piece, heat until warm to the touch. Apply brown shoe polish. Let cool. Re-heat until slightly warm to touch. Let Cool. Buff with #0000 steel wool.
The amount of patina can be varied by using more/less heat and heavier/lighter application of shoe polish. As always, a little experimentation is called for!
